Rhythm

She twirled ’round and ’round,

Young, wild, and free-

Everyone could see-

Where her strength and joy came from.

But some of the things that the rhythm of her heart danced to,

Weren’t the notes that would help her through.

Her soul held onto the roots that weren’t giving her life and ran dry,

The roots were taking her away from the steps that made her bloom

When everything she held onto so tightly slipped away-

Her pride and all of the lies spoken over her were the only things left on display.

It wasn’t until she stopped running,

And started opening up to the truth,

That the embers in her soul became fire.

Her passion and desire grew,

The dead roots were cut off and the embers gave her life.

The wildfire in her heart became her endless, deepest pursuit.

The transformation took a hold of her when she hit depression,

God put people around her and reminded her who she could trust in.

Gods truth is the truth that brought the rhythm of her heart to life.
